The increasingly popular trends of 'BYOD (bring your own device) to work' and 'work from anywhere' expose corporate IT resources to greater risk. Active Directory Federation Services (AD FS) technology on Windows Server is designed to enable end-users to securely access corporate resources from devices of their choice whilst connected from inside or outside your corporate network. Learn how to configure conditional access policies that leverage new AD FS capabilities such as network location awareness, device authentication and multiple-factor authentication in a flexible and intuitive manner. Learn how you can be in control of what authentication methods are made available to end-users, how to plug-in additional authentication providers and how to configure distinct policies governing extranet access. This session explores how AD FS technology helps you avoid 'bring your own disaster' scenarios by confidently securing your corporate resources.
ASP.NET vNext is a lean and composable framework for building web and cloud applications. ASP.NET vNext is fully open source and available on GitHub. ASP.NET vNext is currently in preview, and in this talk Fowler and Edwards will put it all into Context. vNext apps can use a cloud-optimized subset of the .NET framework. This subset of the framework is about 11 megabytes in size compared to 200 megabytes for the full framework, and is composed of a collection of NuGet packages. What does that mean for compatibility? When would you choose vNext and when would you not? You don't have to use Visual Studio to develop ASP.NET vNext applications. You can develop and run vNext on platforms that Visual Studio doesn't run on. But Visual Studio provides the best development experience, and we'll cover ASP.NET vNext both inside and outside the IDE.
Azure Storage is a highly scalable, available, and durable cloud storage system that stores 30+ trillion objects and serves 3.5+ million requests per second on average. It provides abstractions like Blobs, Files, NoSQL Tables and Queues as well as IaaS data disks —all built on top of the same framework. This talk gives an overview of Azure Storage and the different abstractions. We will dive deeper into Azure data disks which are the underpinning of persisted data in IaaS VMs as well as Azure Files which are ideal for migrating existing applications that rely on network file shares. We will also provide details on Azure Premium Storage Disks, our disk solution for demanding workloads that require consistent, low latency and high IOPs.
