NodeJS is reaching a level of maturity where the enterprise is starting to take it seriously and the plethora of modules now available allow for plenty of choice when putting together new web applications. To complete this story, we need to be able to deploy and easily scale out these web applications and for this we can reach out to Azure. Microsoft have provided all the tooling and SDKs required for this to be an easy path to take - and being able to deploy to the same environment as other software written on top of more traditional enterprise platforms is super appealing. In this largely code-driven session we'll jump right into building an end-to-end example on top of a happy-path combination of popular modules such as Express, Jade and Stylus. We'll also be utilizing persistence in the form of MongoDB and looking at all some the other aspects of deployment to Azure such as logging and supporting development across different environments.
As an infrastructure and security architect, John Craddock has been involved in enterprise systems since the early days of Windows NT. His passion is for determining how things really work and then designing and deploying the most effective systems. John presented on Active Directory at one of the first Windows 2000 launch conferences in Geneva; of course this was only after delving deep into its inner workings. Now it’s time for Windows Server 2012 Active Directory to be scrutinized. Come to this demo-packed session and discover what Windows Server 2012 Active Directory has to offer. Learn about virtualizing and cloning DCs, GUI improvements for password policies and the recycle bin, new Kerberos features, and more.
Matt Kurjanowicz, Senior Software Development Engineer, presented an overview of the Hyper-V Remote Shared Virtual Disk Protocol implemented in Windows Server 2012 R2. The presentation was delivered at the Redmond Interoperability Protocols Plugfest 2013. A Q&A session was delivered to the protocol developers in attendance as well.
