Azure Storage is a highly scalable, available, and durable cloud storage system that stores 30+ trillion objects and serves 3.5+ million requests per second on average. It provides abstractions like Blobs, Files, NoSQL Tables and Queues as well as IaaS data disks —all built on top of the same framework. This talk gives an overview of Azure Storage and the different abstractions. We will dive deeper into Azure data disks which are the underpinning of persisted data in IaaS VMs as well as Azure Files which are ideal for migrating existing applications that rely on network file shares.
