With SQL Server 2016's imminent release, we look forward to a whole breadth of new functionality, improvements to existing features and increased integration with the Cloud. In this session I will focus on three of my favorite subject areas and explain why SQL Server 2016 is going to be the coolest release yet. We will take a look at some of the new installation defaults and why they are a great idea, investigate the new In-Memory OLTP functionality, drool over Query Store and even look at various High Availability and Disaster Recovery capabilities both for on-premise and Cloud integration (did someone mention Stretch Database!). So if you are interested in finding out about some of my favorite manageability, performance and high availability improvements and new features then I look forward to you joining me at TechDays Online
In this episode you'll get to explore the cross-platform mobile strategy we took with the project, and how we built our app using Apache Cordova framework, just once, with it working on any device a volunteer would want to use. We also dive deeper into how Visual Studio 2015 enabled us to build this app quickly and easily, along with how we took advantage of our own (free) Android emulator and other cool debugging experiences.
We'll end the episode with a tour of the mobile app we made over the 3-day event, with all source code available now on GitHub: https://github.com/htbox/
