In this episode you'll get to explore the cross-platform mobile strategy we took with the project, and how we built our app using Apache Cordova framework, just once, with it working on any device a volunteer would want to use. We also dive deeper into how Visual Studio 2015 enabled us to build this app quickly and easily, along with how we took advantage of our own (free) Android emulator and other cool debugging experiences.
We'll end the episode with a tour of the mobile app we made over the 3-day event, with all source code available now on GitHub: https://github.com/htbox/
It's been nearly 6 years since Windows 7 was released. A lot has changed. Cybercrime is alarmingly sophisticated and frequent and has cost companies billions of dollars. Personal and corporate information co-exist on the same devices and data leakage is rampant. Cloud adoption has redefined corporate network boundaries and managing identity and access has become incredibly challenging. Mobile devices have changed user expectations. Everyone wants everything now, but it needs to be secure and easy to use. And it has to be cost-efficient!
The enterprise capabilities of Windows 10 were built with deep customer input and are designed to help IT departments address these challenges. Focusing exclusively on new innovations in security, manageability, deployment and servicing, this session will explain the why behind the new capabilities, how they work, and what you will need to prepare for them. While this is a technology-focused session, everything will be explained in a simplified, easy-to-understand manner with real-world examples of business value. As you prepare to enter a new era of personal computing, this is a session you won't want to miss!
