ASP.NET 5 is a lean and composable framework for building web and cloud applications. ASP.NET 5 is fully open source and available on GitHub. In this technical talk Jon will put it all into context. What does that ASP.NET 5 mean for compatibility? What powerful new cloud scenarios does ASP.NET 5 enable? What's new, and what's changed? He'll cover ASP.NET 5 both inside and outside the IDE, on Windows, Mac, and Linux.
The Internet of Things (IoT) starts with your things—the things that matter most to your business. IoT is at an inflection point where the right technologies are coming together and we are able to connect devices to the cloud and leverage streams of data that were previously out of reach. In this session we will look at connecting a device to Azure IoT Hub, a fully managed service on Azure that enables reliable and secure bidirectional communications between millions of IoT devices and a solution back end. As well as sharing lots of resources so that you can go and build this solution yourself.
This session will be an intro to using Squirrel for Windows (https://github.com/squirrel/squirrel.windows) to create custom installer and update frameworks for Windows applications. We'll pick an OSS application and live-code an installer for it, including setting up a server for updates.
