SQL Server connections in cloud scenarios – including with Windows Azure SQL Database – have an inherent degree of unreliability when compared to local SQL Server client/server connections. These challenges to reliability derive from several factors, including inconsistent Internet connectivity, machines in a cluster failing over and databases switching partitions. In this video, you’ll see how to use the new ADO.NET Connection Resiliency feature to add an extra level of resiliency and address these cloud-specific database connection considerations.
Noah will provide an overview of storage in Windows Azure, including how to store, access, manage, and secure data in Azure. Noah will talk about how to use Windows Azure Storage in traditional applications as well as how to design applications using "cloud thinking".
