Regardless of whether you’re building on a private infrastructure, in a hybrid environment, or deploying to a public cloud, there are optimizations you can make in storage and availability that will improve the manageability and performance of your application and environment. Join this session to hear more about the end-to-end scale, performance, and availability improvements coming with Windows Server. We dive into deploying and managing storage using SMB shares, show the improved experience in everyday storage management such as deploying patches to the cloud, and share how to leverage faster live migration when responding to new load demands. Starting with Windows Server 2012, Microsoft offered a complete storage stack from the hardware up, leveraging commodity JBODs surfaced as Virtual Disks via Storage Spaces, hosted by Scale-Out File Server nodes and servicing client requests via SMB 3.0. Now, with major features added in Windows Server 2012 R2 (e.g., Storage Tiering and SMB Redirection), the story gets even better! As a critical piece in the Modern Datacenter (i.e., a Software-Defined Datacenter), SDS plays a crucial role in improving utilization and increasing cost efficiency, scalability, and elasticity. This session empowers you to architect, implement, and monitor this key capability. Come learn how to design, deploy, configure, and automate a storage solution based completely on Windows technologies, as well as how to troubleshoot and manage via the in-box stack and Microsoft System Center. Live demos galore!
Machine Learning can often be a daunting subject to tackle much less utilize in a meaningful manner. In this session, attendees will learn how to take their existing data, shape it, and create models that automatically can make principled business decisions directly in their applications. The discussion will include explanations of the data acquisition and shaping process. Additionally, attendees will learn the basics of machine learning - primarily the supervised learning problem.
In this keynote, we will share the product roadmap, present the latest in Microsoft Project family of products and our cloud offerings and showcase plenty of demos that will get you charged for the rest of the conference! Prior to his current leadership role, Ludovic was General Manager for the Microsoft Project Business Unit, where his responsibilities led him to run product development and head the strategic direction for the Project business. Ludovic has been involved with the Microsoft Project team since 1994 in various technical leadership roles for the Project and Project Server line of products. Ludovic holds a BS in CS from ESIGELEC, an Electrical Engineering school based in France.
In this report, we shall consider a new component in Azure—Azure Resource Manager—which allows you to work with your application as a whole, rather than as a collection of disparate services and components. In addition, Azure Resource Manager allows tagging of resources and performs automatic application deployment in a development or test environment, as well as provides for dependency tracking for settings and resources in these environments.
