The new Universal Application project promises to reduce the amount of code you need to write, but does it reduce the amount of design work you have to do? In this demo-heavy session, XAML guru Nick Randolph explores the tooling available in Blend and the patterns you’d use to produce stunning Universal Applications with a minimum amount of work.
This session is about migrating an existing Azure Cloud Services based application to Azure Service Fabric. We will begin with a quick discussion on different motivations for such a migration. The rest of the talk will be focused on walking through the migrated application code and discussing the available design choices.
With paper mail volume decreasing every year, the Netherland's national postal service, PostNL, had to get creative and push for innovating the way they do business. Making adjustments to use more part-time employees cut payroll costs, but those savings were minimized by the rising costs of providing IT services to more employees. Enter Sogeti, a longtime partner of PostNL. Sogeti worked with PostNL to develop and implement a cloud-based plan for migrating existing applications to the cloud and developing new one for enhanced cloud-based services. The result was a significant reduction in costs for IT and services.
