Microsoft and the .NET community is embracing GitHub in a big way. Microsoft is designing the next version of C# in the open using GitHub issues. The next generation of ASP.NET is being written with the community on GitHub. Most community driven .NET open source projects are now on GitHub.
Using the new tools included in the Windows Phone 8.1 SDK, it is easier than ever to create apps that share most of their code. Code can be shared using the new shared app template in Visual Studio, as well as by creating Portable Class Libraries. This session walks through the development of a shared app, showing you where code can be shared and where it still makes sense to implement platform-specific features.
