SQL Server connections in cloud scenarios – including with Windows Azure SQL Database – have an inherent degree of unreliability when compared to local SQL Server client/server connections. These challenges to reliability derive from several factors, including inconsistent Internet connectivity, machines in a cluster failing over and databases switching partitions. In this video, you’ll see how to use the new ADO.NET Connection Resiliency feature to add an extra level of resiliency and address these cloud-specific database connection considerations.
