Microsoft has been quietly revamping it's build system with the goal of making it genuinely cross platform and much, much easier to work with. The results are pretty amazing. In this session we'll be taking a look at these changes and how you can use them to greatly improve the way you put together and customise your build system. Apart from building .NET code, we'll also show you how to build Java code, how you can integrate with tools like SonarQube and what you would need to do of you want to create your own custom build tasks for those times where you want to do something a little, ahem, unusual.
In the last couple of year Satya Nadella and used the term More Personal Computing multiple times to define the new era of devices that consumers will carry with them and on their bodies. In this session Neil will explore what it means to build more personal software for this next generation of more personal computers. Technologies covered will include, Cortana, handwriting recognition, gestural input, gaze, and identity. Hardware discussed will include wearables, sensors, phones and tablets. Neil will also explore Microsoft's new hardware technologies in this arena, including Band, Kinect, HUB, and HoloLens.
